DESIGN TECHNOLOGIST (Architectural or Engineering)

About the Position

As a Design Technologist, you will be responsible to support our building condition assessment and design teams through the following key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing buildings to document existing conditions.
  • Preparing written reports based on observed conditions and background information.
  • Coordinating, compiling, and editing reports as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Preparing responses to client comments and questions.
  • Participating in the building design process from project inception through to design.
  • Preparing construction documents.
  • Carrying out construction administration activities including conducting site visits to verify compliance with drawing sets and specifications.
  • Setting up the initial Revit model with site context according to Republic’s BIM standards and guidelines.
  • Identifying and resolving building technology issues.
  • Delivering a diverse range of project typologies across the country.
  • Collaborating with client groups and a multi-disciplinary consultant team.


Qualifications

  • Strong organization, communication, and writing skills.
  • A 3-year architectural or engineering technology certification from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in Revit and BIM, with preference given to well-rounded, highly competent users.
  • Strong teamwork skills, motivated by a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Experience working in a design office is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Experience conducting site visits to verify compliance is an asset but not a requirement.
