Year Six
Building the Team, Building the Tools
As our project portfolio expanded, so did our need for reinforcements. Year Six marked a pivotal chapter of growth—not just in the work we were doing, but in the talented people who joined us to do it. We welcomed four new faces to the #PeopleOfRepublic: Mélanie Gagnon, Zack Antel, Tricia Schilling, and Sean Usher. Their arrival strengthened our Project Management, Interior Design, and Technology teams, while our new Studio Director helped keep everything (and everyone) on track.
Behind the scenes, we also levelled up. With the expertise of our growing team, we developed and launched a custom-built planning, scheduling, and resource management tool. What began as a homegrown solution to support our expanding workload is still in use today.
Our sixth annual retreat took us to San Francisco, CA. While we skipped the rice-a-roni, we fully embraced the many other “San Francisco treats” the city had to offer. As always, our team of foodies made sure every day was seasoned with great meals, laughter, and moments of connection.
By the end of the year, our portfolio had grown to 186 projects—a testament to a team thriving on curiosity, creativity, camaraderie, and yes, caffeine. Among those projects, one stands out: Project #169—RAINO (Republic Architecture Inc. New Office). That year marked the beginning of designing what would eventually become our new home base. Looking back, it’s fitting, and a little poetic, that while we were shaping spaces for others, we had also started designing our own.
A space that would carry us into the next chapter of our story.
